Firmware

By the way, just in case you were wondering what version of firmare my psp came preloaded with, the answer is 2.60.

Some research on the net produces the following results, downgrading is very hard, nigh on impossible, very risky, best to avoid and ebay one if you wanna homebrew.

Plus the games i had brought wouldn't run until i'd updated to the latest firmware anyway, which i duly did cos there didn't seem much point taking the risk and downgrading to do some homebrew and leave the £80's worth of games i'd bought getting dusty on a shelf.

So a little bit of advice for all you budding homebrewers, if thats what you want to do, then i've no problem with it, but you would be better off scouring ebay for a cheap psp with 1.5 already preloaded onto it to save you the hassle, and then you can brew away to your heart's content.

All good

Well i've had it for a couple of days now and i have to say it's a great bit of kit. Looks damn good as well, which is always a good thing.

Bought a screen protector for it, which is basically just a sheet of plastic, sticky on one side to place on the screen to stop the dirt and more importantly any scratches from appearing on the screen. During appplication, i dropped it onto the bed (ahem) and thus covered the sticky side in fluff...

Oh dear... however, all is not lost, as A: i've ordered another one, and B: later on i managed to get all the fluff off with sellotape. So i'll use the second one as a spare, and use the one thats on now, as its ok, and scratch that one up.

I'm also thinking about buying one of these, cos its a good idea, a good price, and cos im a geek and its the sort of thing a geek would buy. Good for holidays too... (clicky)

Anyway, thats quite enough excitement for one day, please leave a comment if you think the above link is a silly idea, and i'll ignore you anyway. Have fun
